Who are Mountainfriends?
Mountainfriends travel in the Icelandic highlands and in high mountains around the world, by walking, climbing or on "superjeeps". Here you can see pictures from their expeditions on Icelandic glaciers and Mt. Blanc and Denali (Mt. McKinley)
A tour in March 2002 to Grimsvotn in Vatnajokull, the biggest glaicer in Iceland (and in Europe). We had bad weather and on our way home the snow was to hevy for our trucks. It took 54 hours to get home
In the summer 2001 a couple of Mountainfriends took a trip in Africa. Picture from Kilimanjaro, a trip through Kenya and Uganda with a safari travel service, Rover Expeditions and a visit to the mountain gorillas in Rwanda.
In 1999 the Mountainfriends rafted down a great glacier river in Iceland where it runs through this awesome canyon, rightfully named Dimmugljufur or Dark Canyon.
